CARSON CITY — The Nevada Contractor’s Board in disciplinary hearings throughout January and February took action on 17 cases, imposing fines and license suspensions and revocations against contractors in violation of the law.

Actions were taken against 12 contractors operating in Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas, three operating in Reno and Sparks, and two from out of state.

Violations alleged in the complaints against the contractors ranged from working beyond the scope of licensure, failing to demonstrate financial responsibility, disregard of safety, labor or building laws, and poor workmanship.

The board levied nearly $20,000 in fines and more than $25,000 in fees for investigative costs against 11 of the contractors.
