Farm to fork course to help beginning ranchers

RENO–A new program for beginning ranchers and farmers offered through the University of Nevada, Reno’s Extension is designed to help them raise poultry and livestock and sell their products on the market.

The Farm to Fork Certification program is a five-class series offered Wednesday, March 2-30 from 6-8 p.m. Each session will be conducted by Zoom and taught by established Nevada producers and university experts.

Course topics include business planning and marketing, livestock and poultry nutrition management, financial management, resources and regulations.

And in-person field trip is also included in the course, but details and a date are not yet final.

The program costs $60 per person and upon completion each participant will receive a Farm to Fork Level 1 Certification. Registration is online at https://nevada.formstack.com/forms/btr_2022.
