CARSON CITY—Carson City’s The Greenhouse Project hosts its annual Early Spring and Mother’s Day Plant Sale Saturday, May 8. Shoppers can preorder items through May 7 and pick them up the day of the sale, or shop in person.

The plant sale is an extension of The Greenhouse Project’s mission, which is to promote a greener and more sustainable community and help others obtain fresh and nutritious foods.

“Organic agriculture is one of the best ways to support environmental sustainability and improve the overall health of people,” said The Greenhouse Project Executive Director Jon Ruiter. “Which is why we’re beyond excited to bring this opportunity back to our community.”

Preorders can be placed online through May 7 at The Greenhouse Project Shopify with pick up on Saturday, May 8 from 10 am to 2 p.m. Plants include tomatoes, peppers, petunias and other warm-season plants. Organizers said they’re continuously updating inventory, and they encourage shoppers to check back often.

In-person shopping, following COVID-19 guidelines, is May 8 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at Green Central, the main site on Carson High campus, east on Robinson St. behind the school bus parking lot.
